I have owned two different versions of CYBERsitter on two different computers. With an older version on our first computer, everything was going smooth until CYBERsitter decided to mess with our internet settings. Our computer had never had any problems until after I downloaded CYBERsitter. The filtering was not working properly (some vulgar sites could still be accessed), and my computer basically started to not function. It ended up that the computer was basically shot, even after uninstalling CYBERsitter.
We purchased a new computer, which ran very smoothly and fast. I decided to give CYBERsitter another try, thinking that maybe our old computer was too old. The same things have started happening again. It worked just fine for a few months, and then started acting up. Our internet connection has become super slow, our Internet Explorer (which is the most current browser) is not functioning properly, and the filters do not work correctly. There is a feature on CYBERsitter where you are allowed to set always "ok" sites to visit. I have added several frequently visited webpages to this list, but for some reason CYBERsitter does not recognize them as ok to view. Also, there is a "default to active" mode, where if your computer is shut off, upon restarting the filter will "automatically be active"...This mode does not work at all.
I have tried and tried to contact support, but they are only available through email, which is so slow and frustrating. I can not find a telephone number to speak to a real live person. I am very frustrated with this poorly designed program and with their cyber technical support. I would not recommend CYBERsitter to anyone! Best of luck!
